Gold Fish

The goldfish is one of the most common aquatic pets , they are mostly reared in aquariums, fish bowls or small ponds. The scientific name given to this species is Carassius Auratus. Goldfish come in many different colours, shapes and sizes most common ones are orange-gold in colour but some are silver with orange spots and some have balck spots too, wild goldfish are olive green colour. The fancy goldfish has a different shade to them which grow much smaller than the regular goldfish but most noticeably the fancy goldfish has a butterfly or a peacock type of tail.

 

  • The optimal range for indoor fish is 20 to 23 °C (68 to 75 °F).

  • pH - 6.0 – 8.0pH

  • water hardness of 5.0 –19.0 dGH

  • Life cycle- 6 to 8 years or more

  • Size- 1 inch (2.5 cm) - 2 inches (5.1 cm)
