They are known as Angelfish due to the wing-like shape of their fins. Their beauty earns them the title of ‘King of the Aquarium’ in many hobbyist tanks. The Freshwater Angelfish are given Pterophyllum scalare as their scientific name , these fish are one of the many unique species that come from Brazil’s Amazon River. This type of species can be a bit aggressive but can be reared around peaceful groups of fish. A tall aquarium is most suitable to accommodate their vertical shape.
